I’d been using a 2006 FORD IKON 1.3 flair… till date I dont have a trouble.Its a very good car.I had seen many comment about the maintenance.. Well I happen to buy a new one with 2 years TMP(total Maintenance Program) where even the engine oil is free of cost and any repairs are at the companies cost.Thought it was the case I dint have any problem. As one of out friend said about belt noise… Yeah I agree I did have that problem but MPL Ford Chennai.. very clearly said it was nothing but the belt.. just little bit cleaning will help…Till date I don’t have a trouble.After free maintenance please have your own good mechanic rather than company, to save ur money on Labor charges ,which is usually high at any branded service center My car gives me a 9kms in Chennai city and 14kms at highway (SHELL FUEL).One thing I am dead sure.. If u maintain you car well then no car will give u problems,Even a small noise should be noticed and rectified ,which will save u from heavy Bills in future …….

I am using Ford Icon Flair 1.3 ROCAM since last 4 years, the car is a pleasure to drive around. I never has any problem with the car, it gives me consistently 10-13KM in city riding conditions.

The only thing I do is I use Castrol Edge fully synthetic engine oil.

I never trust the Ford Service center as some one mentioned above they are robbers/thief!

One example…

My car’s exhaust muffler/pressure dome was rusted and developed leakage, when I have approached the so called authorized service station in Hyderabad, they give a estimation of Rs.10,000 + service charges! More over they proposed to change the entire exhaust pipe assembly! Since only the muffler was damaged I ask why they want to change every thing???? the reply was you will not get only the ‘muffler’ as spare part!!! What nonsense!!!

Finally I get only the muffler changes with original Ford part outside @Rs.2500/- !!!

So you can imagine how these ‘authorized service people’ rob you!

I would recommend do not buy Flair – I have one and having RPM increase problem – I sent vehicle 27 times to various ford dealers and yet to see fix … maintaince is too high I paid 3700 to get service and my break pad repaired…!!

i am about to buy a ford flair next week.i live in raipur chhattisgarh. the dealer [vansh ford] told me that ford ikon comes in only one varient & that is flair.now i am confused.how do i know the truth about ikon.?!
